Hey Ya’ll!
I’m Katelyn Maida, a 5th generation Houstonian, University of Houston alum, mom to a beautiful baby boy, and a crazy dog lady too! My college internship was right here in these very studios at 93Q! My love for this city is hard to put into words but dang, it is so cool to wake up my hometown. I’m living the dream and so thankful that y’all let me do it.
When I’m not on the air or at all the exciting events and concerts happening around town, I’m usually spending time outdoors with my family and friends. You can usually find us in the country or on the beach, or at a bar! We’re everywhere. I come from a huge family that you might recognize here in town. My family’s boot business, Maida’s Boots, has been open in Houston since 1901 and two of my brothers still own and operate it to this day. It’s a treasured part of my heritage that has helped to bring me so close to the country music that I love. My mom is from South Louisiana – sha – and a large part of my family still lives there. It’s where I spent a lot of my summers growing up and we still visit to this day. Tex-cajun.. that’s me!
